So, back in the Twitter world, Alex started talking about an endeavor he and Dr. Wilde had taken on to test all of the biomechanical medical prosthetic and replacement parts Rarnar Medical was producing by taking one of the interns and upgrading him/her to their specifications. All products had to be tested before passed onto certification, and before they could all be sold to the major Terran hospital organizations (Ascension Medical, Hope Hospitals, Pafford Research, etc).

Alex headed on down to the Intern Cryo-Chambers in the lower basement of the Rarnar Tower of Evil and selected the finest specimen of frozen intern available: a young man by the name of Kin Ong, whom happened to be assigned under Alex's Engineering department. He thawed the intern, and ushered him up to the medical lab to begin procedures.

Over the course of two weeks, the man was skillfully dissected, opened up, biological body parts removed and stored in cryo-stabilization pods, and prototype replacement parts introduced into his body. A bevy of components went in (see sketch below):

• Bio-skeleton arms and legs – made of a high-strength and high-tensile polymer of carbon and tritanium for structure support while being lightweight,
• Bio-hands and feet – made of the same polymer-alloy, but added with high strength silicon "joints" for movement and flexibility,
• A single Beye-Onic ocular implant and controller chip – complete eye replacement capable of infrared scan, full light spectrum scan, zoom, and photo/video capture/broadcast,
• Bio-heart interchanger – a mechanical heart controlling same functions as human heart, but with ability to pump blood faster through the circulatory system without increasing blood pressure. This model is iArm and iLeg compatible; having on-board upgradeability to a blood/oil system as required by the iAppendages,
• Bio-lungs and ribcage – a set of mechanical lungs enhanced to improve oxygen efficiency while increasing disposal of carbon dioxide. Upgradeable to cleanser system for toxic aerial cleansing. Ribcage is constructed of a flexible network of the high-strength polymer-alloy that moves to mimic the breathing patterns of a human, in tune with any level of activity,
• Bio-kidneys and adrenal glands – mechanical ultra-efficient filter system for the circulatory system. Adrenal gland attachments generate a more potent level of adrenaline, necessary for fueling and powering not just the biological human body, but as added power to the Rarnar Medical systems,
• Neural Network Interface – controller chip housing systemwide support firmware and serves as connection point between biological brain and enhancement devices.

He was nicknamed Intern 2.0 by Alex, and sent on rigorous testing throughout Rarnar Tower and Manhattan. Most of the testing was pretty basic–exercising, running, walking, sleeping, eating–but sometimes it strayed into the extreme category: being palm-struck by 7500-lbs of strike-force (Full Demon Lee) dead-center on the sternum, through a plate-glass window, down 45 floors, and onto the cement at near terminal velocity. After two days in the regeneration pod, his biological systems were healed up nicely, and all of the mechanical enhancement survived the attack by a very pissed off and highly demonic Lee.

His total enhancement ratio topped off at 85%. After another week, one leg and hand/arm assembly were replaced with their original biological counterparts, his biological ribcage was replaced, and ten damaged vertebrae were replaced with Bio-bone Spine network. His final ratio dropped to about 55% biomechanical enhancement.

Dr. Wilde and Alex decided on leaving the remaining enhancements within Intern 2.0's body, and to keep him as a further test subject for future firmware upgrades. New interns would be used for future surgical procedures. Alex took Intern 2.0 home with him over the weekend, where he soon discovered the Intern's love for martial arts.

Thus, Alex had a mixed martial arts sparring and training partner capable of taking on Alex's strikes due to the state of biomechanical enhancement. At 150 lbs of biomech and trim muscle, Kin (Intern 2.0) would be an otherwise minimal threat to Alex's 240 lbs of thick muscle. But, under bioenhancement, he could dish out the punishment required to not only keep Alex in peak physical condition, but also help in wrangling an irate, clawy, bitey, incredibly powerful Full Demon Lee.

Alex promoted Intern 2.0 to his personal assistant the following Monday, but decided to keep the moniker of "Intern 2.0″ as Ong's official title rather than his designation.

Update: Alex wants to stick Intern 2.0 in the regeneration chamber because he doesn't like him having a shaved head. Long story short, we had to remove Alex from a locked regeneration chamber. Not activated, Intern 2.0 doesn't have the clearance to do so, but apparently can shove his boss into the chamber. We had to hide Intern 2.0, though. Alex wasn't exactly happy.
